  6. Welcome to ProxiWeb 3.02a for PalmOS.  ProxiWeb is ProxiNet's 
  7. full-featured web browser for handheld computers. Features include:

  9.         o *NEW* Expanded forms capability
  10.         o *NEW* Support for named anchors
  11.         o *NEW* Support for mailto tags
  12.         o Icon bar linked to commonly used features
  13.         o Links to Modem and Network Preferences from the 
  14.           ProxiWeb Menu
  15.         o Database Versioning for updating old databases
  16.         o Inline and full-size images
  17.         o Server-side imagemaps
  18.         o Full HTML Forms 
  19.         o Browser Cookies
  20.         o Basic client authentication (username/password prompting)
  21.         o SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encryption for
  22.           sending data securely over the Internet
  23.         o Bookmarks, caching, and most of the other
  24.           features you expect from a web browser

  26. Fixes included in this release include:

  28.         o Disconnect command moved to the "Go" pulldown menu 
  29.         o Dialing box fix: only need to cancel once when canceling an
  30.           ISP connection
  31.         o Cache expiration:  History list is no longer stored in the 
  32.           list of cached pages
  33.         o Ability to install on PalmPilot Professional with limited free
  34.           memory on the device

  36. INSTALLATION
  37. ============

  39. After downloading, unarchive the file into the directory where
  40. the Palm 'hotsync' software resides. Users of the Palm Desktop
  41. software will use a directory normally called 'add-on'. 
  42. Install all the files beginning with "PrxWeb". 
  43.  
  44. UPGRADERS:  Installing PrxWebBookmarks.pdb will overwrite existing
  45. stored bookmarks.  To avoid overwriting the current bookmarks, only 
  46. install the PrxWeb302a.prc, PrxWebComm.prc, and PrxWebStatic302a.pdb
  47. files.

  53. OBTAINING A SECURITY PROFILE (important!)
  54. =========================================
  55.  
  56. To use the Cookies and SSL features, register a free ProxiWeb Security
  57. Profile with ProxiNet by visiting http://www.proxinet.com .
  58. After receiving the username and password via e-mail, go back to the 
  59. ProxiNet site and change the password on the profile account.  
  60.  
  61. To store the ProxiWeb Security Profile information into the Pilot,
  62. run ProxiWeb and select the 'Menu' button located next to the Graffiti 
  63. area on the Pilot.  Next, tap on 'Prefs' in the pulldown menu bar and
  64. then select 'Security...' .  Enter the username and password into the 
  65. fields provided.  The ProxiWeb software has now been enabled to use 
  66. Cookies and SSL connections.
